"Ingredients" Film Screening + Locavore Dinner - tba

date - tba

Sponsored by Kickapoo Coffee!   We're celebrating the seasons and our local bounty with a screening of the indie film, "Ingredients" PLUS an accompanying hand crafted dinner - themed around honey & honey bees and their critical role in our sustenance... with dishes inspired by our four seasons.  Beer and wine pairings.  Speakers.

Join us for a 5-course local feast inspired by the beautiful seasons of our region, and the new film "Ingredients." Each course corresponds with one of the seasons, and is paired with a local beer & wine. The film is laid out as such that we will present a course with a section of the film, then pause for the next round. We will follow directly with a small Q & A with 4 of our local farmers and Jim Javenkoski, founder of this Locavore Dinner movement.

The film is such that we will be presented with a course, wat A feature-length documentary (70 minutes) written and directed by Robert Bates and produced by Brian Kimmel, "Ingredients" illustrates how people around the country are working to revitalize that connection. Narrated by Bebe Neuwirth, the film takes us across the U.S. from the diversified farms of the Hudson River and Willamette Valleys to the urban food deserts of Harlem and to the kitchens of celebrated chefs Alice Waters, Peter Hoffman and Greg Higgins. Ingredients is a journey that reveals the people behind the movement to bring good food back to the table and health back to our communities.

Movie website  IngredientsFilm.com  The local food movement takes root.

American food is in a state of crisis. Health, food costs and our environment are all in jeopardy. A movement to put good food back on the table is emerging. What began 30 years ago with chefs demanding better flavor, has inspired consumers to seek relationships with nearby farmers. This is local food.
